Motihari: There seems to be no end to mob justice in different parts of the country. A similar shocking incident has taken place in Bihar’s Motihari where a sadhu was brutally thrashed by a mob. The crime happened after the victim’s bike hit a man ad an argument ensued.

The criminal incident took place under the Govindganj police station area of ​​Motihari.

According to the latest information, the victim identified as Lal Kishore Giri alias Naga Baba, a resident of Chatiya village under Malahi police station, was on way to the temple on his motorcycle when a man reportedly collided with his vehicle in Tikuliya area.

Although the man was not injured, but this led to some alteration between the man and the Sadhu. The argument became heated between the two prompting the villagers to come to the spot. The mob then tied the sadhu to an electric pole and started brutally beating him.

Several videos of the incident have emerged which show the brutality with which the sadhu badly thrashed. The video shows the sadhu pleading for his life, telling the villagers that he would die if they continued beating him. However, the mob did not budge.

Hearing the commotion, a retired police inspector from the village reached the scene and rescued the sadhu from the mob. A police complaint was later filed in which the victim named nine persons and 20 other villagers for the crime.

Based on the viral video, the police have arrested one accused identified as Ashok Ram. Police say efforts are underway to arrest other culprits.
