A motorcycle accident resulted in the death of a local man Tuesday evening, according to Bristol Township police.

Authorities responded to Bristol-Emilie Road near the intersection with Green Lane around 5:27 p.m. after reports of a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV, police said.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a white 2020 GMC Terrain was traveling east and attempting to turn left into a parking lot in the 5700 block of Bristol-Emilie Road when the collision occurred. The SUV collided with a green 2022 Kawasaki motorcycle that was traveling west, police said.

The motorcyclist — a 40-year-old man from Bristol — was seriously injured and transported to Lower Bucks Hospital by the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad, police said.

The man later died from his injuries, police said.

The driver of the GMC – a 26-year-old woman from the township’s Croydon section – was also injured and taken to Jefferson Bucks Hospital in Falls Township for treatment, police said. Her condition was not disclosed.

Levittown Fire Company No. 2, Third District Fire Company and Bristol Township Fire Police assisted police at the scene.

Investigators have asked witnesses or anyone with information about the incident to contact Officer Ashley Stone at 267-812-3060 or 215-785-4040.
