One dead in collision between bus and pick-up

At least one person died after a passenger bus and a pick-up truck collided on the East-West highway near Jhadula Mai Temple in Buddhabhumi Municipality-5. Eight others were injured.

According to traffic police inspector Anish Bhandari, the truck driver, a resident of Shivraj municipality, died on the spot after the bus, which was traveling from Surkhet to Kathmandu, collided with the truck, on its way to Butwal from Chandrauta.

The driver’s body was pulled from the crushed vehicle after two hours.

The injured are being treated at a private outpatient clinic in Gorusinge in Kapilvastu. They are all in normal condition.
